Santa Fe Seniors on Bikes (SOBs) are a group of road cycling enthusiasts who meet at least once a week, typically on Thursday mornings, to ride the Santa Fe area. Our trips are in the order of 30 miles, but opportunities always exist to extend, or to turn around at any point along the way.

We publish a ride list each year, based on a membership meeting in February.

We have around 80 members, with a 50% mix of males and females.

Most rides see around 15 - 20 members and we have a reputation for enjoying socializing over coffee after, and occasionally during, our rides.

Read more on the SOB's and our history  here.

Safety Policy:

The policy of the Santa Fe Seniors On Bikes cycling club is to obey all traffic laws. This includes each individual rider obeying all traffic signals. Riding single file on the right side of the road and using hand signals are encouraged. Helmets are required.  It is our intent for bike riders to behave as vehicles. These practices will help keep our rides safe and will set an example for other cyclists.

If this sounds like a group you would like to take part in, please check out our

There are 10 that signed up for the Leadership Training Classes; March 18, 25. & April 1. We will need more certified ride leaders this year to handle the new short and mountain bike rides. Please e-mail me to sign-up.

Karen  is organizing a 5 day, 254 mile, Colorado cycling trip for Sept. 8 - 12.  She called the Gunnison Inn at Gunnison, CO (866-641-0700) and they said it would be o.k. to park our cars at the motel while on our bike trip. The rates there are $65.00 for 2 queen  or single king or backside area $59.00 for 2 queen or single king (Ask for senior rate). There will be more info and sign up sheets later in the year.
